Visit Asheville and Tour Movie Locations
In the same vein as other recent fantasy successes, such as the Harry Potter and Twilight films, The Hunger Games is becoming a craze that is sure to draw fans and cinema buffs to Asheville throughout the summer tourism season.

Provides Boost to Local Economy
The attention that Hunger Games is receiving is already boosting the local economy, with the North Carolina Film Commission quoting preliminary figures of 62 million dollars being brought into the area. Theater pre-sales of tickets are breaking box office records, with one midnight screening at an Asheville theater sold out nearly a month in advance of the premiere.

This isn't the area's fist taste of big business filmmaking -- "The Last of the Mohicans," "Dirty Dancing," and "Hannibal" were all filmed near Asheville -- but it just may prove to be the biggest attention-getter yet.
